Mutual benefits expected for Intertextile Pavilion and Shenzhen International Apparel Fair
Guangdong province at the centre of China's thriving textile industry

The organisers of the Intertextile Pavilion 2006 are expecting mutual benefits for the Intertextile Pavilion and Shenzhen International Apparel Fair. Both events will be held at the same period at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

Being the largest apparel manufacturing and processing base
in China, Guangdong province is at the centre of the country’s thriving industry. An increasing number of fashion brands from Europe and the USA choose the region as the production centre for their garments. In January 2006 total clothing exports rose to USD1 billion, up close to 60% year-on-year. Exports to Europe were up 58% and those to the US were up 100%. In addition South China, and especially Shenzhen, is a major manufacturing base for local brand names that export to the rest of China.

“Shenzhen International Apparel Fair is Guangdong province’s premier event for the fashion industry and each year the fair brings thousands of local and overseas fashion buyers,” says Katy Lam, Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
“We anticipate a lot of interactions between the exhibitors of our pavilion and the fashion buyers that are coming to Shenzhen to visit the apparel fair. I believe the benefits for the two parties are going to be substantial. Textiles suppliers exhibiting at our show will be able to get first hand information on the latest buying trends and directions from the fashion buyers who will in return be able to look at textiles and accessories.”

Products on show will include cottons, accessories and man-made from the Guandong province as well as Zhejiang and Jiangsu. Exhibitors from Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea will also participate in the show presenting their latest collections.

The pavilion is organised by Messe Frankfurt, CCPIT-Tex and the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association.
