China's Wool knitwear export inspection order SN/TO453-2005 was implemented last year. Production companies are required to adhere to these new standards, so as to pass the exports testing. New regulations, which focus on physical appearance and quality requirements, will bring improvement in quality and rates through modifications.
An important aspect is to make the product safer. Safety testing standards for ecological textiles are significant. To pass the safety detection procedure, goods must match GB18401 requirements.
Knitting units need to focus on procurement of raw materials and bettering back finishing methods. Cancellation of foreign trade barriers will enable local companies making knitted wool garments to upgrade product quality.
Testing of products for new standards will hold their size and appearance as a foundation, while concentrating mainly on safety. Examiners will check quality, physical parameters and safety levels of knitted garments to ensure that the product complies with new standards.
