DyStar Textile expands its presence in China

DyStar, a leading supplier of products and services for the textile industry, officially opened its new service centre for the textile industry in Shanghai on January 26, 2007. In his opening address, Eric Hopmann, Head of the DyStar activities in China, stressed the importance of this new location: “Our new service centre in Shanghai extends our presence in China and enables us to build a bridge between international and local retailers and textile mills in Asia and China.”
The new service centre will provide a wide range of value-adding services for textile finishers and retailers in China and other parts of Asia. The 3000 m2 building is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory dyeing and printing machines and testing equipment for all requirements, including wet fastness and light fastness tests. The centre will also develop solutions geared specifically to local needs.
The extensive service offering of DyStar Textile Services is central to DyStar’s bid to differentiate itself from its competitors. Stephane Thouvay, Head of DyStar Textile Services, summarises the benefits for customers working with DyStar: “Our products and services help textile companies meet quality and ecological standards requested by the retailers, thus shortening delivery times and reducing overall production costs.”
DyStar offers four clearly structured service packages worldwide: Testing Solutions, Color Solutions, Ecology Solutions und Expert Solutions. The Testing Solutions package comprises colour fastness tests and analytical services based on international test specifications. DyStar does not simply perform suitable tests, it also suggests corrective action if samples fail them. On request, it can provide technical support at customers’ production facilities. This helps textile producers meet quality requirements and reduce bottlenecks.
Reducing lead times through smarter colour communication is the aim of the Color Solutions service package. Certified and practically viable colour standards from DyStar’s subsidiary Color Solutions International mean customers can rely on colour integrity from the original idea to the end-consumer.
The Ecology Solutions package is designed to help textile producers meet demand for responsible and sustainable production. As part of its Econfidence programme, DyStar advises customers on issues relating to ecology and chemicals legislation and recommends suitable products to meet ecological specifications. DyStar’s own high standards of quality and environmental protection make it an expert partner in this field.
