The statistics from exit and entry inspection and quarantine bureau in Zhangjiagang that in 2006, bonded area in Zhangjiagang imported 757 batches of cotton with 227.8 thousand tons and good value of 0.311 billion USD, increasing by 311%. 355% and 357% respectively comparing with the same period and reached a new high in history. Bonded area in Zhangjiagang keep rapid growth in volume of cotton import, becoming a prefecture in cotton import in Jiangsu. Zhangjiagang has already become an important port of cotton import.
