A team of the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA) in collaboration with the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) will explore the Indian market and seek investment opportunities in the country's key textile locations.
The BTMA will be holding a special series of symposia at these locations and will focus specifically in the area of quality control.
'Even where companies already have high-level manufacturing equipment for the key processes of spinning, weaving or finishing, the effectiveness of a plant and the marketability of its output can be dramatically improved,' BTMA director Alan Little said in a statement Monday.
India is the third largest purchaser of British-made machinery and equipment, after China and the US. In 2005, British textile machinery sales to India surged by almost 80 percent, said the statement.
