Japan is a sophisticated market with advanced information technology. It is a consumer maturity country, which has shown new features of diversified consumer goods supply in many varieties, with small quantity and shorter cycles. Japan in recent years has been a greater market for China's textile and garment exports.
From the circumstances of China's textile and garment exports to Japan in the second half 2006, the export volume kept rising, proportion of the total export market gradually increased.
Currently, some of the most significant problems textile industry is facing in Japanese market is how to develop China's own textile brands, boost added-value of products and change the status of lacking famous textile brands in Japanese market.
On the other hand, China's textile production and export industry associations should play a bigger role to coordinate and guide the production and export of textile enterprises. Excessive competition will lead trade frictions between Chinese and Japanese textile industries.
