In order to encourage imports of new technology, control consumption of energy resources and to curb export of environmentally polluted products, China Government has introduced amendments in tariff rate from December 1, 2006.
The tariff rate on tight spinning machine has been reduced from six percent to zero and this decision is hailed by textile units.
It is very important to develop new spinning technology and increase the proportion of new textile products in the spinning technology transfer in 11th Five-Year PlanFibre2fashion and in the future, according to Government sources.
Tight Spinning Technology can improve the quality of yarn and fabric, and reduce the difficulty of the subsequent processing. Therefore, spinning technology has been listed in the “Progress of Science and Technology Development Program of China Textile Industry”. It is one of the key technologies, which should be encouraged for country’s economic development.
As China’s tight spinning machine technology is far behind the international standards, the country has eliminated tariffs for it. This reflects that Government supports the development of high-tech textile industry.
Some textile units wish Chinese Government should reduce the import tariffs on some high-tech textile machines and key parts, which domestic units are not capable to produce.
