Anti-dumping duties imposed by the US and EU have forced Chinese textile and clothing manufacturers to find new export avenues, and destinations like Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Cambodia, Thailand and Pakistan are the results of this business exploration.

Production levels of these countries are not good in textile and clothing industry. Many processing units purchase raw materials from China.

This year, Chinese textile fabric export to the neighbouring countries has gone up rapidly. According to Shanghai Customs, textile fabric export has reached 760 million meters with the export value of US $950 million recording an increase of 23.1 percent.

Cotton fabric and chemical fibre cloth are main export categories.
