The US International Trade Commission has ruled that Chinese exporters have been dumping polyester fiber at cheap prices into the US.

Chinese makers are preparing to fight back and respond to this lawsuit.

The US International Trade Commission determined that there is a reasonable indication that the U.S. industry is materially injured or threatened with material injury, by imports of certain polyester fiber from China, that are allegedly sold in the U.S. at less than fair value.

The charge, involving exports of 9.6 million US dollar, and more than 100 Chinese manufacturers, is the United States' biggest anti-dumping charge for Chinese textiles.

China textile association vice chairman Cao Xinyu said:" The United States is trying to adopt a new trade protection measure to curb Chinese imports. Chinese manufacturers should respond to the lawsuit. The final ruling will be fatal for them if we do not respond. "

As a result of the commission's affirmative determination, the U.S. Department of Commerce will continue to conduct its anti-dumping investigation. Its preliminary determination will be released around November 30th.

Some polyester staple fiber is a man made fiber, similar in appearance to cotton or wool. It can be used in sleeping bags, mattresses, ski jackets, pillows, and furniture.
