According to the updated statistics from National Bureau of Statistics, in May 2005, the companies with annual sales income above RMB 5 million produced 3.711 billion meters of fabric, with the growth of 48 million meters on the previous year. The total output from Jan. to May was 16.574 billion meters, increasing by 14.14% year on year.

In May, the cotton fabric output was 1.986 billion meters. The total output from Jan. to May was 8.791 billion meters, increasing by 18.69% on the previous year. From Sep. 2005 to May 2006, the cotton fabric output was 15.854 billion meters.
