The export value of textile and garments in China reached 21.62 billion USD in January, reflecting an increase of 38.58 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics released by the General Customs Administration.

The growth was 14.9 percentage points higher than the 23.68 percent whole-year growth recorded in 2010.

Last month, the export value of garment and accessories products reached 13.38 billion USD, increasing 33.61 percent from a year earlier, while that of textile products hit 8.24 billion USD, up 47.48 percent compared with the same period of last year.

Reportedly, the robust growth in exports was mainly due to the inventory replenishing demands in European and the U.S. market, the increased price driven by rising cost last year, and the early delivery for February orders before the Chinese Lunar New Year.
