The status quo of large-scale textile & garment markets in China in 2005

Wang Yaori, vice secretary-general of China General Chamber of Commerce said, the number of textile & garment markets with a scale of over 100 million RMB in China in the year 2005 approached 409, which had created the value of 47.31 billion RMB.
In 2005, the total number of commodities markets in China was 3323, with the total contract value of 3000 billion RMB, attributed to a persistent growing market scale. The number and contract value of the markets with a scale of over 100 million RMB accounted for 12.3% and 15.8% of the national total, increased by 4.81%and 3.6% over the pervious year separately.
Mr. Wang Yaori also stated, more than half of the textile & garment markets in China are located in the area of Suzhou and Zhejaing provinces. In the year 2005, the order value of Jiangsu Wujiang Orient Silk Market, for example, achieved a breakthrough of 30 billion RMB, ranked 1st in the textile & garment markets in China.
