The Ground-breaking ceremony for the Building of Information and Commercial Center of China Textile & Clothing was held in Hangzhou city on Apr. 20. Hao Jianxiu, vice-chairman of National Political Consultative Conference, Du Yuzhou, the President of China National Textile and Apparel Council, Wang Tiankai, Yang Donghui, vice-presidents of China National Textile and Apparel Council, members of the Standing Committee of the province and others delegates from the Political Consultative Conference of the province and the Committee of Hangzhou People's Congress participated in the ceremony.

The Building of Information and Commercial Center of China Textile & Clothing, a combination of 13 centres, possessing the functions of products R & D, business and trade, exhibition & communion, personnel supporting, consultation, funded by China National Textile and Apparel Council, the People's Government of Hangzhou, and Zhejing Zhongfang Tenglong Investment Co., Ltd, will serve as a platform for international economic cooperation and trade, regarded as one part of the “promoting silk culture and creating the home of women garments” plan in the period of the 11th five-year plan.

The building, with 16 floors, a construction area of 10,0000 square meters, located in the Si Jiqing Garment Streets, will be put into use in 2008.
