The updated data from China Customs shows that in March China imported 495,000 tons of cotton, making it a new record of monthly output. From Jan. through March, China imported 1.12 million tons of cotton. The Jan. and Feb. import was 301,000 tons and 322,000 tons respectively.

From Sep. 2005 to March 2006, China cotton import accumulated to 2.2 million tons.
