Official statistics by Ningbo Customs showed that Ningbo’s textile export to EU and USA was USD 99 million and USD 41 million in February, 2006 separately, falling 32.4 per cent and 15 per cent year-on-year separately. The is the first minus increasing to export to EU since April, 2006 and the fist minus increasing to export to USA since Feb., 2002.

In Feb. 2006, the export for clothing and accessories from Ningbo was USD 187 million, down 13.9 per cent compared with the same period of last year and the export for yarns, fabrics and the relevant products USD 216 million, down 25.8 per cent year-on-year separately.

Ningbo is a coastal city in the Zhejiang province, southern China. The city is famous for its excellent textile and apparel products in China where there are a lot of important textile and apparel manufacturers.
