Increase in Production and Sales, Decrease in Storage

According to data statistics from China Textile Circulation Association on chemical fiber’s production, marketing and storage, the national gross product of rayon short fiber amounted to 53, 945 tons (among statistical sample enterprises) in Mar, 2007, showing decline compared with both Jan and Feb. The output of rayon short fiber in the 1st quarter took on a trend of continual decline. The figure in March decreased by 509 tons compared with February, showing a decrease rate of 0.93%; by 2000 tons over January, a decrease rate of 3.57% and the figure increased by 2667 tons over the same period of last year, an increase rate of 5.20%.

Affected by the increasing demand of down-stream enterprises and the improving market condition after Spring Festival in March, the sales of rayon short fiber and filament both showed an increase to different extent. The sales of rayon short fiber amounted to 57, 487 tons in March, increased by 5112 tons over the same period of last year, an increase rate of 9.76%; the figure of filament hit 20071 tons, increased by 2438 tons over the same period of last year, an increase rate of 13.83%.

The storage of rayon short fiber and filament both indicated a decline to different extent. The storage of rayon short fiber in March remained 6964 tons, decreased by 6902 tons over the same period last year, a decrease rate of 49.86% and the figure of filament in March was 12234 tons, decreased by 2878 tons over the same period last year, a decrease rate of 19.04%.

The raito of output to sales of rayon short fiber and filament both saw increase in March, The ratio of rayon short fiber was 106.57%, grew by 4.43 percentage over the same period of last year; while the ratio of filament’s remained 113.35%, grew by 1.03 percentage.over the same period of last year.
