China’s exports of woven cotton shirts are stimulated by larger US quotas this year and a shift to higher-valued products. Unit prices of shipped shirts clearly rose in the first quarter this year, as reflected by our statistical tables and confirming that China will not remain a competitor to low-cost supplying countries, such as Bangladesh.
