Import Administration (IA) will be holding a public hearing on the Vietnam textiles and apparel import monitoring program on April 24, 2007 starting at 9:00 am in the auditorium at Department of Commerce, 14th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington D.C.

On January 11, 2007, the Department of Commerce began monitoring imports of textile and apparel products from Vietnam, concurrent with Vietnam’s accession to the World Trade Organization. This monitoring program is in effect until the end of the current Administration.

Commerce has initially monitored five sensitive product categories - trousers, shirts, sweaters, underwear and swimwear.
