Exports of Zhejiang provincial textile firms to Vietnam are increasing at a rapid pace. Transport of textile goods through ships has gone up 50 percent.
Freight of small containers from Shanghai to Vietnam was worth US $400 in 2005, which has risen to $600. For big containers, it has reached $1200. Shipping service companies have put restrictions on the weight of goods to be shipped.
Nearly 20 percent of cargo space for ships voyaging to Vietnam remained empty before December last year, now all cargo space remains packed. Many textile enterprises in the province are responsible for late delivery to the country.
Further, textile enterprises are planning to establish factories in Vietnam.
