China's Textile Industry Export Grows 25.3% in 2006

With a 25.3% growth in 2006, textile industry still keeps growing at a fast pace, according to Zhangli, inspector from Economy Circulating Bureau, National Development and Reform Commission. 

The year of 2006 witnessed a year-on-year increase of 14.6% in China’s textile industry, 28.3% increase in profits year on year.  The industry having experienced a fast development, the industry structure has been improved, and the operation quality and profits kept growing.  Significant effects have been seen from technology progress. The production efficiency in the whole has been markedly improved, the female inspector said, in an issue of economic situation.

The data from NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) show, in 2005, the country’s Chinese Textile and Clothing Export revenue is $117.5 billion, 1.3 times of that at the end of 2005, an average increase of 17.3%, accounting for some 24% of the total global volume of global Textile and Clothing trade.
