China's import of T/ A Exceeded USD 120 billion in Jan. -Oct. 2006

The updating statistics by China Customs reveal that China's total imp. & exp. value of foreign trade recorded U.S. dollar 1424.95 billion in Jan.-Oct. 2006 increasing 24.10% compared with the same period of last year. Among them, export was 779.29 billion dollars, increasing 26.8%; while import was 645.66 billion dollars, increasing 20.90%.
Official statistics made by China Customs showed that China's total imp. & exp. value of textile and apparel in Jan.-Oct. 2006 reached 135.031 billion dollars, increasing 17.67% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 9.48% of China gross imp.& exp. value of foreign trade.
Gross import value of textile and apparel reached 14.6637 billion dollars, up 5.66% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 2.27% of gross import value of foreign trade in China. Among them, textile import was 13.192 billion dollars, increasing 5.22%% compared with the same period of last year, and apparel import was 1.445 billion dollars, increasing 9.97% compared with the same period of last year. The favorable balance of textile and apparel trade reached 107.557 billion dollars in Jan.-Oct, 2006.
Among the main import countries and regions, the import from Asia was 57.834 billion dollars, up 23.94 per cent year-on-year, taking 15.45% in total China’s export of textile and apparel, and the import from Europe 29.919 billion dollars, up 30.55 per cent year-on-year, taking 25% in total China’s import of textile and apparel, the import from USA 16.967 billion dollars, up 12.55 per cent year-on-year, taking 14% in total China’s import of textile and apparel. It is obvious that the total import from Asia, Europe and USA can share 87%.
The statistics shows that gross export value of textile and apparel in Jan.-Oct. 2006 reached 120.394 billion dollars, up 23.94% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 15.45% of gross export value of foreign trade in China. In which, the export of textile was 42.595 billion dollars, up 18.21% compared with the same period of last year, and the export of apparel was 77.798 billion dollars, up 27.31% compared with the same period of last year.
Among the main export countries and areas of textile and apparel, EU was the top one, Hong Kong PR China, USA and Japan became the top two, three and four. In Jan. to Oct, 2006, China's export to EU was 18.71 billion dollars, increasing 15.32% year-on-year, to Hong Kong PR China was 18.407 billion dollars, increasing 20.82% year-on-year, to USA reached 16.967 billion dollars, increasing 12.55% year-on-year, to Japan reached 15.767 billion dollars, increasing 8.62% year-on-year.
