Vietnam's Textile & Garment Industry to Seek Cooperation with China

Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) organized a meeting with Textile and Apparel Council of China in Hanoi for exchanging information and studying experience of Chinese firms as well as seeking cooperation in coming times.
During the meeting Vietnam Deputy Minister of Industry Bui Xuan Khu emphasized importance of cooperation with China in the field of textile and garment industry.
According to Xuan Khu, the textile and garment is a key industry of Vietnam, especially in exports and cheap labor cost is one of the advantages of industry. However the industry is facing many difficulties, which it has to overcome.
It has to import 100 percent fibre, 90 percent cotton and 100 percent dye for domestic production. Lack of competitiveness, incapability of creating famous brand, low rate of free on board and lack of skilled laborers for dying sector are other problems faced by industry.
Do Ngoc Chau, Chairman of Textile and Apparel Council of China told that China has experienced such difficulties which Vietnam is suffering, so both the countries should work together in order to find out the solutions and for the development of countries.
