China's import of T/A reached 13.5 billion dollars in Jan. – Sep. 2006

Statistics by China Customs reveal that China's total imp. & exp. value of foreign trade recorded U.S. dollar 1272.610 billion in Jan.-Sep. 2006 increasing 24.30% compared with the same period of last year. Among them, export was 691.230 billion dollars, increasing 26.50%; while import was 581.380 billion dollars, increasing21.70%. Trade surplus was 109.850 billion dollars, which is released by China Customs.
Official statistics made by China Customs showed that China's total imp. & exp. value of textile and apparel in the past months 2006 reached 121.234 billion dollars, increasing 21.85% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 9.53% of China gross imp.& exp. value of foreign trade.
Gross import value of textile and apparel reached 13.459 billion dollars, up 6.08% compared with the same period of last year, and taking up 2.32% of gross import value of foreign trade in China. Among them, textile import was 12.160 billion dollars, increasing 5.39%% compared with the same period of last year, and apparel import was 1.299 billion dollars, increasing 13.10% compared with the same period of last year. The favorable balance of textile and apparel trade reached 94.316 billion dollars in Jan.-Sep, 2006.
Among the main import countries and areas, Taiwan PR China, Japan and South Korea became top three. In Jan. to Sep. 2006, the import textile and apparel from Taiwan PR China, Japan and South Korea was 2.394 billion dollars, 2.328 billion dollars, and 1.856 billion dollars separately, up 1.87%, down 2.55% and down 3.40% separately on the previous year.
