According to the General Administration of Customs, during January-July 2006, China imported 7921 sets of flat knitting machine, up 0.6 percent from the same period of last year, with import value at $263 million, rising 76.12 percent.

Average import price was $33200 per set, representing a growth of 75.08 percent.

The top five importers were Guangdong at 4990 sets, down 3.29 percent a year; Jiangsu at 1400 sets, up 328.13 percent; Zhejiang at 733 sets, 7.16 percent higher; Shanghai at 251 sets, growing 7.73 percent; Shangdong at 214 sets, rising 111.88 percent.
