China's import of Textile & Apparel USD 10.31 billion in Jan. -Jul. 2006

Official statistics made by China Customs showed that China's total imp. & exp. value of textile and apparel in January to July 2006 reached 86.48 billion dollars, increasing 21.4% compared with the same period of last year, and China's total imp. & exp. value of textile and apparel in July 2006 was 15.2 billion dollars, increasing 19.5% compared with the same period of last year
In Jan. to July, 2006, gross import value of textile and apparel reached 10.31 billion dollars, up 5.7% compared with the same period of last year, and gross export of textile & apparel was 76.17 billion dollars, increasing 23.9%% compared with the same period of last year. The favorable balance of textile and apparel trade reached 65.86 billion dollars in Jan.-June, 2006, up 27.3 per cent year-on-year.
In Jan. to July, 2006, China’s export to EU was 11.86 USD billion, increasing 6.6% compared with the same period of last year, the growth is getting smaller. China’s export to USA was 10.38 USD billion, up by 1.8 percent year-on-year only, taking up 29.2 percent of China’s total export to EU & USA was. USA became China’s second top export market.
In the previous seven months, the growth in accumulative total in China’s export to Hong Kong and Korea was 24% and 41% respectively and the export growth to Japan was 8.2 percent, but the export growth to Rumania, Turkey, Mexico and Bulgaria has been keeping stronger.
