Tunisia: Textile clothing exports post 6.52% increase in 2010

 According to a report published by the Technical Textile Centre CETTEX, the exports of the textile-clothing sector amounted to 4544 million dinars (MD) in the first eleven months of the current year registering an increase by 6.52% compared with the same period last year .

Textile exports from January to November 2010 stood at about 608 MD (+20.7 %), while clothing exports amounted to 3936 MD, which represents an increase of about 4.62%.

According to this report, there has been a slight rise in exports mainly to Tunisia??s chief customers: France 2.2% (1537 MD) and Italy 6.6% (1424 MD).

Concerning the sector imports, they rose, from 2009 to 2010, by 11.82% amounting to 3226,85 MD.

Textile imports (2 554,27 MD) recorded 13.27 % increase, and clothing imports (672,58 MD), increased by 6.65%.

The report also shows a rise for all supplying countries: Italy (+4.7%), France (+2%), Germany (+17.2%), Turkey (+24.2%), Belgium (+951%),China (+37.1%) and Portugal (+43.9%).
