China's imports and exports of home textile products saw growth in January to August

According to statistics of China customs, during January to August of this year, the major products of China's home textiles saw a various degree of growth, as compared with the same period of last year.
Statistics show that between January and August, the exports of China's bedding products reached 1.155 billion pieces, amounting to US$2.403 billion with average export price that dropped by 1.89%. Exports of Carpets witnessed a significant increase in both quantity and amount: 0.3643 million tons were exported, representing US$1.230 billion, although the average export price fell by 3.16% as compared with last year.
At the same time, curtain exports was recovery relatively well with 0.365 pieces exported, totaling US$1.275 billion; curtains' average export price had a slight rise of 0.29%. The average export price of towels had a steady growth and 0.373 billion pieces were exported, which amounted to US$0.805 billion representing an increase of 23.96% and 32.57% respectively compared with last year. In dining textiles, the recovery of exports appeared obvious with export amount reaching 0.497 billion pieces; the average export price dropped by 11.93%.
The US remains the biggest market of Chinese home textiles. According to the US customs statistics, India and Pakistan are China's key competitors in home textile products in the US market.
