After last year’s date change, Yarn Expo Autumn will once again be held this summer for three days from 24 August 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Last year, the event was held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Home textiles and the China International Knitting Fair, and attracted more than 36,000 professional buyers, with nearly 3,400 of those attending specifically sourcing yarns and fibres.
Director of Trade Fairs for Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Ms Wendy Wen commented on the organisers commitment to the date change:“We understand that with any change there will come about some resistance, however, overall our exhibitors feedback from the last two editions of Yarn Expo, have expressed their willingness to gain exposure within a new market segment in China.”
In particular, yarns and fibre suppliers participating at the autumn edition will have access to both home textiles and apparel fabrics manufacturers. With China’s current 12 percent gross domestic production rise, rapid urbanisation and higher standards of living will also continue to grow, creating a massive domestic demand for both home textiles and apparel fabrics. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the total output value in 2009 for the home textiles and apparel fabrics industries grew by 10 percent and 8.5 percent respectively.
In fact, several previous exhibitors have confirmed their participation this autumn show. “The show is always an excellent marketing platform for our company and we have already reserved 100 sqm of exhibition space,” said Mr Wang Guang Qing, Vice General Manager and Senior Engineer for Shandong Ruyi Group.
The show will feature a wide range of products including natural yarns and fibres such as cotton, wool and flax/ramie; man-made yarns and fibres both regenerated and synthetic; speciality yarns and fibres; elastic yarns and fancy yarns plus many others.
